چکیده
Methods We conducted a retrospective observational analysis of our experience with different approaches and perfusion techniques in patients with thoraco-abdominal aneurysm. Group 1: 3 patients: aortic cross-clamp, with left heart bypass, without selective organ perfusion Group 2: 2 patients: aortic cross-clamp, without left heart bypass, selective organ perfusion Group 3: 1 patient: aortic cross-clamp, with left heart bypass, selective organ perfusion Group 4: 2 patients: aortic cross-clamp, without left heart bypass, without selective organ perfusion

Hybrid procedure in a patient with symptomatic thoraco-abdominal aneurysm and prior abdominal aortic reconstruction – case report
Open repair of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm is connected with high mortality and morbidity. On the other hand, endovascular treatment of thoraco-abdominal aneurysms, which started 10 years ago, reduced perioperative mortality and morbidity. However, it results in a high level of late complications. It seems that an interesting solution to the problem is a hybrid procedure, which allows late...
متن کاملSelective visceral perfusion during thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair.
PURPOSE To evaluate the effectiveness of selective visceral perfusion during repair of an thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA), we compared the postoperative renal and hepatic functions (blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, total bilirubin, glutamate pyruvate transaminase) between the two groups with and without perfusion. PATIENTS AND METHODS We operated on 52 patients with TAAA. Among ...

OBJECTIVES We retrospectively reviewed the surgical results of thoraco-abdominal aortic repair using moderate-to-deep hypothermia combined with targeted reconstruction of the Adamkiewicz artery (AKA). METHODS Between 2006 and 2014, 100 patients underwent thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm repair using moderate-to-deep hypothermia. Their mean age was 58 ± 15 years and 76 (76%) were men. Their a...

Background: Repair of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs) continues to be a challenging task. Hemorrhagic shock, cardiac arrest and multisystem organ failures are the most frequent causes of death, and paraplegia and renal failure are the most devastating complications. Methods: Flawless surgical technique and the use of adjuncts to protect key organs including the brain, heart, spinal co...
متن کاملLeaking thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm presenting with a massive left haemothorax: a clinical trap.
A case is described in which a patient, who had had an aortic aneurysm repair 10 years previously, presented with a thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm which ruptured immediately above the previous graft. The implications for the management of patients with an abdominal aortic aneurysm repair are discussed.
